Link has recently installed a number of traffic monitoring cameras for the LBBJV Clem 7 Tunnels. The cameras are the most advanced network digital surveillance cameras in the world for remote monitoring and general surveillance. The system head end has a state of the art monitoring facility and console dedicated to operating and managing the camera network. The site end solution is robust, cameras are housed in environmental vandal, ballistic and dust resistant housings, they are designed to enable prompt cleaning and enable general maintenance times to be reduced as a result of using a easy configurable and user friendly design fabrication.

The proposed camera locations were discussed with the project traffic manager and the Brisbane City Council, they were located in areas where traffic changes would be common and require continual observation by a number of key personnel, the cameras allow for remote transmission of images and bidirectional sending of information from a number of operators, these cameras were designed and installed to be live view cameras.

The cameras send simultaneous live footage to Brisbane Metropolitan Traffic Management Centre (BMTMC) and to the project management sites across Brisbane CBD. The cameras were installed for the primary and sole objective of traffic management, although the benefits of the camera extend far beyond traffic management, the project team are able to use the system for task monitoring, progress monitoring and security monitoring of an evening when construction and traffic is redirected.

Link designed, installed and manages the camera systems for the project team, these cameras provide essential information to the management teams and have revolutionised conventional traffic management around temporary construction sites.
